About Us

Our History

 

Established, March of 2015, by Tom and Lisa Bentele. After selling their electrical distributorship, Rhino Electric Supply, Tom and Lisa moved from Southern California to the wonderful town of Warsaw, Indiana. Retired and bored, Lisa bought Tom some jerky from a local market. Tom took one bite of the jerky and spit it out complaining about the chemicals he could taste. Lisa told him "If he didn't like it he should make his own!"


So that's what he decided to do! They refurbished the old Brown Bag Deli with the help of Tom's brother and nephew, then after many long hours and some back breaking work they finally had the shop finished. All that was left was the jerky!



After a few trial batches of our jerky family recipes we opened the Jerky Shop. We opened on the first Friday in March and were an instant success!



We continuously look over the recipes and tweak each one depending on our customers feedback! We consistently introduce more jerky flavors called "flavors of the week," to keep it new and exciting. We always welcome our customers feedback so send us an email or like us on facebook to always keep up to date!
